Argentina = Epic

My dear friends, its been so long since I have posted anything. I hope you will forgive me. We have been so busy with family vacations, and with traveling around the world.. sorta! I was lucky enough to be able to go to Argentina for our Holiday catalog photoshoot. Brad tagged along and we had such a great time. We went to Buenos Aires, and Bariloche which is definitely what I want my heaven to look like someday. Bariloche is known for its chocolate (insert smiley face) and beautiful views.

I mean really? I was at this spot, its not a picture from a postcard. The picture doesn't even do this area justice. After 3 long days of me working and Brad trying to find his lost luggage we headed back to Buenos Aires. We missed our flight going out, so sadly we had to stay another night in Buenos Aires.. which means I got to go do a little shopping! (insert smiley face). Buenos Aires had some AMAZING shopping, I had a smile on my face all day long.

If you are ever looking for a unique place to go to, I would recommend Bariloche!

Happy 1 Year to Us!

WOWIE! One whole year since we have been living in pure bliss! What a fun time we have had! For our Anniversary we spent our time down in Laguna Beach which I love. Brad surprised me with an oceanfront view, which was breathtaking!! We couldn't have been any closer to the ocean. We munched on a ton of food, sushi, pizza, and gelato! We got lots of sun and had a blast.

Cruisin in a Woody

Over the 4th, we had so much fun with friends. We had BBQ, watched fireworks and rode in our friends the Large's Woody. It was so fun watching everyone stare and wave. We fit everyone in perfectly snug!

Proposal Video

Just in case any of you would like to see how Brad proposed, now you can. Just an fyi, after he proposes the rest of it is mushy kissing so you can stop after that. My favorite part is when Brad just points to the golf ball haha! "Oh, Look! There's a pink golfball"

ELEVEN

It was just last year at this time that it was one more month till we got married, now its only one more month that we have been married a YEAR! I remember as a teenage thinking I was in love, and of course you think you are, ever one goes through it. However, you don't truly know what love is until you are married and you just keep growing more and more in love with that person. Its the best feeling ever!

This month we have learned...
- The more dorky I am, I think the more Brad is happy he married me.
- The more dorky Brad is, the more I am happy I married him.
- You have to date couples, we are dating the Hadley's this month, its going pretty well so far.
- Putting up dead animals in the house is a funny joke, but only for a minute.
- When Brad watches sports with one of his friends (Todd or Bryan) it sounds like there is 10 of them.
- I am so happy that basketball is over, now I just need Soccer to be over.
- Brad still thinks its crazy we are married, I don't know if he will ever actually realize that we are!
- When we watch a reality show like American Idol or So You Think You Can Dance, Brad is one of the judges.

Brad redecorates the house

So you should never leave your husband alone for 4 days. Especially when he is hanging out with a friend who is trying to get him into hunting. This is what I came home to Sunday night, scared me to death!! Isn't he sweet?

*Note - the picture doesn't even show how big this bunny is, it has huge horns!!

Brad can do tricks and flips

For Memorial Day weekend we went with some of our good friends the Hadley's to Don Pedro Lake up North. It was so fun and I was so proud of Brad and all the cool tricks he did. Check em out!

Pictures from our Trip will be coming soon, I just need to get them developed.

A year since he put a ring on it!

I cannot believe that its already been a year since Brad proposed to me. Its so crazy how much time flies when you are in love and having fun. Yes, that is cheesy, but so true! If you need a refresher, here is how he did it.

My Birthday Weekend

Wow, its been a long time since I posted about anything. Mostly because I'm waiting to get pictures back from all the things we have been doing.

For my birthday week, Brad took me out to dinner Thursday (the day before) he told me we were going to get italian food, and some yummy dessert. He told me we needed to leave by 7:15, so I am thinking we have reservations at 7:30, so when we get there i notice we are running a bit late, and he said oh shoot, I forgot to make reservations. I was a little upset about that.. regardless we arrived at Cheesecake Factory, and put in a reservation (which was already made) and some close friends of mine were there to surprise me! He is so good at surprises, last year he stirred up this one. I was so happy, the Dinsbachs, and Bartells were awesome to attend.

Friday on my birthday, I got spoiled by my friends at work, flowers, treats, lunch, it was awesome. Afterwards Brad and I drove out to Palm Springs for a relaxing weekend with his family. Saturday night his parents took us out to dinner to get sushi yummy!

The week after we went wakeboarding with a few of our married friends.

9 months!

No, I'm not pregnant its 9 months since Brad and I have been married! So crazy, and the sad thing about it was that we realized it at dinner while we had our friends The White's over. Time has sure flown its insane!

Here are some things that I have loved about the 9 months.
* Brad knows how to make me happy if i've had a bad day, CHOCOLATE
* Brad is a great planner, and surpriser, I'm not so good.
* We are finally both starting to get back in to our workout routines, 9 months later!
* Brad is finally getting me to use our crock pot, so we have been having friends over for dinner.
* Waking up and falling asleep next to him will never get old.
* When Brad works out, Brad needs to eat.. lots and lots more! Which means I want to eat more and more.. no bueno!
* Biggest Loser will always be our favorite show to eat chocolate to.
* Family hand me downs are the best. (we got a new computer, and surround sound, awesome!)
* Skype is the worlds best invention, I have been video talking to my parents every Sunday.
* Grateful that Brad doesn't get annoyed that I talk to a computer while visiting with my parents.

Until 10 months!

Tom Kat

So I love this picture, first of all I think Brad and I resemble Tom Cruise and Katie, secondly this was the first time Brad and I hung out with any of our friends since we got back from our honeymoon. I don't know why but I felt so awkward, I think just because people kept asking "so how's married life" when in reality I knew what they really wanted to ask. I like awkward moments.. I just don't think I play them off well. I'm not awkward anymore.. probably because people don't ask, they can just tell. Married life is indeed wonderful!

Happy Birthday Bradley Jay!

Today is the year mark of the birth of an amazing man.

Happy Birthday To My Best Friend. Here is why my husband is amazing!

1 - You are the best roommate I have ever had
2 - You look amazing in a suit
3 - When you make the best water with lemon in it
4 - You don't mind when I fall asleep at 10pm, sometimes 9pm at night
5 - You encourage and inspire me to do better, even if sometimes I just want to eat chocolate.
6 - You eat the food I make, even if its just mac and cheese, tater tots, or pizza.
7 - You like to watch my fashion/girl shows and pretend to like them.
8 - You don't say anything about my stinky breath in the morning, even when I complain about yours.
9 - You take me to get yogurt when I have had a really bad day, or just because.
10 - You like it when my hair is in a pony tail, and I have no make up on.

The end!

Oh Love

So since this month is almost over, and it is love month I thought i'd end it off with a love story. Precious, I know!!

I still remember the day that Brad told me he loved me. Mostly because I was waiting SOOOOOO long for him to tell me. I knew that I loved him when I went out to Palm Springs for Thanksgiving and I met his whole family for the first time. I never did tell him, because that is the guys job. So for Christmas when Brad came out to surprise me it finally happened. We were sitting on my parents new couch in front of the fire place, cuddling of course. He started saying Lace... and then paused for like 5 minutes, and finally said it! Ooh it was the best feeling in the world! I guess he originally actually wanted to wait until New Years, but luckily he didn't.

Our First Date

As I was looking through my old posts, I noticed that I never officially blogged about our first date. So I hope you don't mind taking a trip down memory lane with me.

Brad and I went on our first date September 12th 2008, he picked me up and we went and picked up some golf balls at a sporting goods store. We chose hot pink so we could see them, since we were going to hit them off the sand into the ocean. What Brad didn't realize was that I can't quite see at night.. it was still fun. Brad was pretty impressed by my golfing skills. Or so he says.

After that, we decided to go eat. We both wanted to try something new, and I had an idea of where I wanted to eat. So we start driving down PCH, Garlic Joe's comes up. Lets eat there, I love garlic (also I knew that once we both ate garlic I would for sure not want to kiss him.) We got an amazing dinner, also I tried Albacore.. really?? I don't even think I knew what it was, but I wanted to impress him. So i just swallowed it down!

While we were driving home Brad asked me if i still wanted to hang out or go home, of course I still wanted to hang out so we went back to his place. We talked till 2am, which is a huge deal for me because I'm out by 10pm!! Luckily my plan worked, we did not kiss on the first date!! Oh, but I sure did want to! The rest is history.

The end!

S-E-V-E-N

Seven Months my friends! Wow has time flown!!! And we have grown so much, I think I just rhymed! The past seven months have definitely been the best months of my life! Here is why.

- I never thought I could love someone so much.
- I still get butterflies when we kiss.
- He can always find a way to cheer me up or make me laugh.
- Living with a guy is so much easier than girls, especially when he's your best friend.
- Valentines Day is so much better when your married, in more ways than one. ;)
- No matter what, I always have someone by my side. My favorite, waking up.
- Hearing compliments from Brad will never get old.
- When I get discouraged, I always have someone to vent to, or cry to. Even when he forces it out.
- Being a team, 2 is always better than 1. Go Team Arave!!!!
- On topic of last name, I really dislike pronouncing it. People look at me like I'm crazy.

Valentines Day!

So Valentines this year was so wonderful, we celebrated Friday. We both got off early, and Brad had a few surprises/rounds he had planned.

Round 1, we went and saw Valentines Day - we had to do this in the day time, since I tend to fall asleep easily during movies. The movie was so cute, I was super emotional or something so I cried of course!
Round 2, we went to one of our favorite places to eat. Pacific Whey, down in Crystal Cove which is where we went Last year. On our way there we drove down PCH and watched the sunset. We usually both get breakfast food, but we got dinner food this time.
Round 3, we drove home, and made chocolate covered strawberries, my FAVORITE!

It was a wonderful day, Brad made me so happy!

Pictures to come (I took them with my new Holga Camera)!

1/2 a year of bliss!

Wow, it has already been half a year since Brad and I have been married? Its funny because people ask me all the time how I like it.. most people have heard the first year of marriage is the hardest. Well here is my honest answer. I love it, I love every minute of it. Everything is just better, and easier.

1 - I like things warm, Brad likes them cold, therefore I need layers of clothes at night!
2 - Being in a car for 12 hours straight makes Lacey sleep and Brad think of really crazy things.
3- Brad likes to talk in 4 different accents, my favorite is English, my least is Brooklyn.
4 - Again, I love going to other peoples weddings. We have been to 3 in the past month.
5 - Our friends that keep getting married are all staying close by = so fun!
6 - Working out.. is sadly not our biggest priority anymore.. we need to change that!!
7 - I sleep a lot.. I mean a lot..
8 - When you watch a movie where the spouse dies.. its super sad, more that it used to, I hate it!
9- We are each others biggest fans!
10- I've realized lots of my close friends don't see me being a mom anytime soon. I'm okay with that and love their honesty. I don't either to be honest and yes Brad and I are waiting 2 years, in case you were wondering.

Until next month! :)
